The NFL Network initially proposed to Time Warner Cable that they add the NFL Network to basic cable.  And of course, Time Warner Cable rejected the idea because they would not make any money off of the deal, which in my mind is unfair to the NFL Network.  I say that because they do not charge me extra to watch my favorite TV shows like The Office or 24 but they want to make me pay to see football across the nation.  This is not fair.

So, the NFL Network even compromised and said that they would accept Time Warner adding it to their digital package and not basic cable.  And once again, Time Warner Cable refused.  So, since Time Warner Cable will not include Time Warner Cable as part of their digital cable package, I will have to miss the viewing of certain games throughout the season.  Carolina Panther’s fans must unite and bring the profit seeking Cable Company down to a reasonable level.  Something must be done.

The Network is home to live regular season games and NFL game re-airs, with exclusive NFL Films footage of the top games from the weekend. It leads you to the Path to the Draft with Bowl Games, exclusive live NFL Combine coverage and the NFL Draft.

I am concerned that thousands of football fans are not able to watch NFL Network because cable systems to which they subscribe in North Carolina are refusing to add it to their basic cable package.  Time Warner wants their customers to purchase NFL Network along with many other sports networks – such as Versus and the Golf Channel – that they never watch.  We are concerned by cable companies’ discrimination against NFL Network and against other high-quality non-sports independent channels in favor of less popular channels that the cable companies own.

Panthers Beat the Saints http://www.pantherscentral.com/blog/Carolina-Panthers/panthers-beat-the-saints/ http://www.pantherscentral.com/blog/Carolina-Panthers/panthers-beat-the-saints/#comments Mon, 08 Oct 2007 07:34:55 +0000 info Uncategorized http://www.pantherscentral.com/blog/Carolina-Panthers/panthers-beat-the-saints/ Well it wasn’t pretty but it doesn’t have to be.  The panthers beat the Saints earlier today as time expired with a FG.  The Saints have been anything but spectacular this year, but knowing what they are capable of makes this win at least mildly nice to think about!

Steve Smith did his thing and found the endzone.  David Carr was knocked out early but returned later on and looked solid.  I can’t wait till Delhomme is back though, then we’ll really see what this team is capable of.

4th straight loss http://www.pantherscentral.com/blog/Carolina-Panthers/4th-straight-loss/ http://www.pantherscentral.com/blog/Carolina-Panthers/4th-straight-loss/#comments Wed, 20 Dec 2006 04:23:11 +0000 info Uncategorized http://www.pantherscentral.com/blog/Carolina-Panthers/4th-straight-loss/ The Carolina Panthers have now dropped their 4th game in a row.  Their playoff hopes are pretty much gone, and with Atlanta and NO on the schedule to finish the year, this is starting to turn into a disaster.

Just think, beginning of the year, with the offense and defense set to both click..this was the NFC favorite to take the the NFC’s spot in the superbowl.  That prediction seems to be FAR from the truth, as the Panthers have struggled throughout the year.

I think a huge part of it was starting the year off without Steve Smith and thus losing a bit of confidence right off the bat.  It’s no secret this offense goes through him as much as the Chargers offense goes through LT. Without him this is a below average offense and a below average football team.

This season loos to be over for the Panthers, time to turn our attention to next year.
